If you’re interested in our language training, a member of our staff will visit your company to meet with you and your employees, explain our program in detail, determine your workers’ needs and develop a personalized course proposal.

Our representative can also carry out a completely free, no-commitment, level analysis of all the course candidates.

Happy New Year!

It’s January and time to make some New Year’s resolutions. Lots of people have promised themselves that 2012 is the year that they will learn to speak English well and have signed up to a course to make this resolution a reality, but this is only the first step.

Of course, it’s important to attend the classes and do the homework, but if you really want to improve, you must use English outside the classroom and make it a regular part of your life. Students who socialise and make friends in English improve much more quickly than those who don’t, so here are some ideas on how you can do this and find English success in 2012.

A 90% pass rate

It’s that time of year when many school and university students have their minds focused on their exams. The same can be said of many language students.

Last June, Oxford House put forward 10 candidates to the University of Cambridge ESOL exams, 25 to the English Trinity College London GESE exams and 6 to the French DELF exams, with a pass rate of 90%.

The undertaking of an official exam gave an impetus to their studies, and a great sense of satisfaction when they received their certificates. Moreover, there couldn’t have been a better way for the companies to measure what their employees got out of their language courses. We hope to repeat the success with the candidates we are presenting this June.

Last month we gave you some ideas to make English part of your social life. This month we’re going to focus on listening, a key skill if you want to be a confident communicator in English.
